What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses multiple fine needles to safely make micro-injuries to the rejuvenate the skin. The micro injuries promote the body's natural production of elastin and collagen creating more radiant and plumper skin. Elastin provides skin tightness and collagen creates firmness.

As we age, both elastin and collagen decrease by 1% each year. Eventually resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and loss of skin tone and elasticity that causes the skin to sag.

The best way to boost collagen and elastin in the skin is to turn on the fibroblast cells that produces these fibers naturally. This is done when the skin's healing process is turned on to repair the micro-injuries that we created. Fibroblast cells race to the injury to repair the skin by replenishing collagen to rebuild the structural integrity of the skin that will result in a healthier, younger, and fresher appearance.

What can I expect?

Microneedling is effective and safe for all skin types. The procedure usually takes about 60 minutes and can be used anywhere on the face or body. Topical numbing cream is applied for comfort. A pen-like device that is attached to a disposable end attachment containing small needles is used to gently and evenly puncture the skin.
The appearance of these micro injuries will be nearly invisible. After the procedure, a serum or calming treatment will be applied to help your skin heal. You may experience some redness, and this usually subsides in a day or so. We recommend that you avoid direct sunlight, swimming, sweating, exercise, and vigorous activities that cause sweating, and tanning beds for 72 hours after treatment.
A series of 4-6 micro-needling treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended to achieve an optimal result. We recommend maintenance treatment every 6-12 months. To further stimulate collagen production, we recommend combining microneedling with PRP.
